Dinner on January 24 & 25, 2011
So yesterday and today, I basically had the same meal. The dinner was a sandwich (turkey or sopresetto) and ramen noodles. I am trying to save some money right now so I am eating on the cheap. Unfortunately, my wine choice for the past two days was not as good as the bottle I bought on 1/23. On 1/24, I bout the 2009 Rose Vald'Azur Cotes de Provence (French). I think it costs either 5.50 - 5.80 CHF. Sadly, it tastes like cheap zinfadel that you buy in college. But its not even that sweet. Sadly, I will not be finishing this bottle.

Dinner on January 23, 2011
Hey Guys,
For dinner today, I went to the Coop (grocery store) and picked up a Jambon and Swiss sandwich (6.50 CHF). I didn't know what Jambon was when I bought it but turns out to be ham. The sandwich had some light mustard on it as well. It was either a very good sandwich or I was just either very hungry as it was my first meal today. There was just enough mustard not to overpower the sandwich but enough to keep the bread from being to dry. The bread has a crusty exterior with a chewy, soft interior. You can taste some of the herbs and seeds(thyme, sunflower, or sage??) in the bread. The Swiss cheese and ham also tasted very good together. I haven't had enough Swiss cheese to tell you the differences between the cheeses yet. With the sandwich I had a La Sensuelle 2009 Rose Syrah from France. The 750 ml bottle costs 5.50 CHF. The rose is ok. It's light on the palate, with some citrus and strawberry fruit. It tastes like it has too much alcohol. I'm going to chill it outside (Temperature ranges today from 26F to 35F) and see how it tastes once it gets colder.
Thanks for reading.

My new Life!
Hey Guys,
This is a new blog that I am starting. I got the idea from my friend Ivy, who has a blog called the Hungry American. I found it fitting to use close to the same title as I expect myself to be pretty hungry while I am living in Switzerland. I expect to write about what I eat while I am living and traveling here as well as what I am drinking.
Thanks for reading.
